Helen "Dee" Spade
Number #1 North Hills Fan
Helen “Dee” Spade is North Hills School District’s undisputed #1 fan.
Her career in public service has made her the #1 champion of our staff and students.
A North Hills’ Facilities Department veteran, she is a life-long SEIU member, serving as an officer and championing health benefits for workers. Because of her dedication to labor, she was named a trustee of the Allegheny County Schools Health Insurance Consortium and is an active participant in the Pittsburgh Business Group on Health.
Dee is an advocate for vocational education and skilled trades. As a member of the A.W. Beattie Committee, she represents our district and its continued commitment to producing college and career-ready graduates. Ultimately, Dee is in this for the students. Her legacy of looking out for our young people started with her first day as a North Hills School District staff member and continues today as Vice President of the School Board. True to her roots, she continues to fight for safe facilities, excellent education, and opportunity for all.
A self-described “North Side Girl,” Dee has lived in the community for over 50 years. Her two sons, Willy and Sam (classes of ‘82 and ‘87), are proud graduates of North Hills. She and her husband of over five decades own a local catering business.
